Skills Academy is a free and engaging program designed to equip young people with the essential skills employers are seeking. With the job market more competitive than ever, many employers highlight a gap in critical professional skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving among candidates.

Designed for young people aged 18 to 30.

Program details

This free, fun and flexible program teaches young people ages 18 to 30, sought-after professional skills that will help them stand out to employers, land a job and excel in the workplace.   

Program Features: 

• Core Skills Training: Participants will learn important skills such as effective communication, collaboration, and adaptability to thrive in today’s workplace. 

• Personal Development: The program also focuses on personal branding, presentation and networking—key attributes that contribute to long-term career success. 

• Accessible Learning: Skills Academy is offered online and in person, allowing participants to fit their education around their schedules. 

• Micro-Credentials: As participants complete the modules, they can earn badges from Humber Polytechnic, valued at $500, to enhance their resumes, showcasing their achievements to future employers. 

By participating in Skills Academy, young people can reduce their learning curve and increase their chances of success in the workplace. Skills Academy not only benefits participants but also addresses the needs of employers for a skilled, and work-ready workforce.
