“Earlier this year, I had the privilege of attending the Young Women in Tech Event, a two-day immersive experience hosted by The King’s Trust Canada and KPMG Canada. The event was a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired by industry leaders and peers.
During the event, we participated in a dynamic design thinking workshop where teams were challenged to develop solutions to improve recruitment, retention, and advancement for women across all organizational levels. As a member of the Mental Health and Wellness Committee, I collaborated with talented individuals from various tech backgrounds, working to bridge diverse perspectives and tackle this critical issue.
Our committee’s innovative approach, focused on boosting retention and job satisfaction through enhanced wellness initiatives, was recognized as one of the top ideas of the event!
Thank you to everyone involved in organizing such a valuable experience. The insights and connections I gained are immeasurable!”

“Youth play an integral role in helping one another break into their dream careers. This was one of the incredible takeaways from tonight’s networking session hosted by The King’s Trust Canada 🥂
Having met amazing individuals like Fikayo Aderoju CSM, CSPO and Tooba Dawood, CAPM this message couldn’t have rang more true. After talking about the incredible impact that these two youth leaders are having in their communities through Project Impacting Lives and their video series respectively, it’s eye opening to see just how much youth can help each other discover hidden opportunities and learn practical skills.”

“Last week I had the opportunity to attend The King’s Trust Canada’s “Young Women In Tech Networking Event” 🗣️
It was great to hear from Emily Zhao, CPA and learn about their career path to KPMG.
👩🏻🤝👩🏾It was also nice to see familiar faces and catch up with them again! We last saw each other at the design workshop in June. Gul D., Isha Jayswal, Lina Refai, Sianna Kurji, and Ruhee Kurji, thank you for making me feel comfortable.
👥 I met some new friends and had a nice “real talk” with Lauren Holt, MASc about what it’s like being on the receiving side of LinkedIn.
🏆 To top it off, I won the networking Bingo game and received a SEPHORA gift card!
Thank you to BrainStation for donating their space for this event, and thanks to KPMG Canada for the sponsorship.
See you at the next event!”
“A few weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to attend The King’s Trust Canada’s “Young Women In Tech Networking Event”.
The event kicked off with an engaging icebreaker of Tech Trivia Bingo. Special thanks to the marvelous hosts who immediately set the tone for a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
We were then able to sit and have a chat with a few industry professionals
Victoria Duffy from NPower Canada and Atefeh Kheiri from TransLink who talked about their career journeys and provided a lot of valuable insight.
The highlight of the event was getting to work on a case regarding how to retain women in the workplace using tech. I got to work with a team of brilliant women and come up with a unique solution. We got to present our ideas to the rest of the attendees and get feedback about our prototypes.
Thank you KPMG Canada for hosting this event along with The King’s Trust Canada. Looking forward to attending more in the future!”
