Announcement from Mark Fell (Chair, The King’s Trust Canada):
“On behalf of the Board of Directors of The King’s Trust Canada (TKTC), I am pleased to share the appointments of the following as Interim co-CEOs: Kevin Uchikata, currently serving as Director of Finance and Operations, and Cynthia (Cindy) Caron Thorburn, currently a Member of the Board and Chair, Audit and Risk.
This announcement follows the appointment of Farah Mohamed to the Senate of Canada earlier this month. Since Farah joined The King’s Trust Canada as CEO in September 2022, she and her team have accomplished a great deal so that the organization could pursue its ambition to be Canada’s leading charity for youth who face barriers to employment. With a new brand, programming, talent, narrative, partners, and supporters, we are on track to serve 100,000 youth by 2035.
On behalf of the TKTC Board of Directors, I wish Farah every success in her new role. Further, we want to assure all stakeholders that we have every confidence that both Kevin and Cindy will work with our incredible team to ensure that the Trust continues to move forward during this transition period. The Board has retained Korn Ferry to assist in the search for a new permanent CEO.
The King’s Trust Canada remains fully committed to its mission to help young people facing barriers increase their skills and employability. To learn more about our flagship programs please visit kingstrust.ca”
